Catalytic conversion: The catalytic muffler is equipped with a catalytic converter, usually made of precious metals (such as platinum, rhodium, palladium, etc.) or metal oxides as catalysts. When exhaust gases pass through the catalytic converter, the catalyst can lower the activation energy of chemical reactions involving harmful gases in the exhaust, thereby accelerating their reaction rates and converting harmful gases into harmless carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogen.
Sound attenuation: The catalytic muffler is also designed with sound-absorbing structures such as resonance chambers, expansion chambers, and porous sound-absorbing materials. These structures can absorb, reflect, and interfere with exhaust sound waves, thereby reducing exhaust noise.
