  • Diesel oxidation catalyst

Diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) is part of the diesel exhaust aftertreatment system. Its main function is to convert carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) in the exhaust gas into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) through oxidation, and it can also oxidize some soluble organic fractions (SOF) in the exhaust gas, reducing particulate matter emissions.

--Reduce particulate matter emissions: 1. Oxidize soluble organic fractions. Particulate matter (PM) in diesel exhaust gas contains insoluble soot particles and soluble organic fractions (SOF). DOC can oxidize some SOF in the exhaust gas, reducing the mass of particulate matter and thus reducing particulate matter emissions.

2. Assist particulate filter regeneration: When the vehicle is equipped with a particulate filter (DPF), DOC can increase the exhaust gas temperature through oxidation, providing heat for passive regeneration of the DPF, making it easier to oxidize and remove the particulate matter in the DPF, maintaining the normal operation of the DPF and extending its service life.
