The Hanwei 404L-7 air tank has the following main functions:
- Store compressed air: Used to store compressed air from an air compressor, providing air for vehicle braking, horns, and other systems. Trucks and other vehicles have multiple pneumatic devices, and the air compressor may not be able to supply air instantaneously. The air tank pre-stores air to meet the vehicle's air demands.
- Filter impurities: Dust, water molecules, and oil that may be pumped in by the air compressor are filtered. These impurities, being denser than air, settle to the bottom of the tank after entering with the compressed air, improving the quality of the compressed air and extending the service life of vehicle braking systems and other components.
- Stabilize air pressure: The piston movement of the air compressor results in unstable compressed air pressure. The air tank allows the unstable air to settle before releasing stabilized compressed air, ensuring stable air supply pressure and the normal operation of pneumatic devices such as the braking system.
- Assist in cooling: Air compressed by the air compressor heats up. High temperatures reduce air density and storage volume, and moisture is less likely to precipitate. The air tank cools the compressed air, improving storage efficiency and ensuring compressed air quality.
