FAW Junwei 10-port Air Tank It is a device used to store compressed air in the pneumatic system, such as the braking system, of FAW Junwei series commercial vehicles. The "10-port" design is mainly for connecting pipes, valves, sensors, and other related components.
- Functions
- Energy Storage: Collects and stores compressed air pumped by the air compressor, providing a sufficient air source for the truck's brakes, air horn, and other pneumatic components, ensuring that these components can function normally when needed.
- Pressure Stabilization: Stabilizes the unstable compressed air pumped by the air compressor, delivering compressed air with stable pressure, ensuring stable air pressure in the air circuit, and enabling stable operation of pneumatic equipment such as the braking system.
- Cooling: As compressed air flows and stays in the air tank, the heat generated by the air compressor compression can be dissipated, reducing the air temperature, increasing air density, facilitating the storage of more air, and also helping to precipitate moisture in the air.
- Filtration: Dust, water molecules, and oil impurities that may be pumped in by the air compressor in the air will settle to the bottom of the tank during the short stay of compressed air in the air tank, playing a filtering role, protecting the air circuit components, and extending their service life.
- Advantages
- Easy Installation: The 10-port design facilitates the connection and installation of the air tank with other vehicle components, allowing for more flexible adaptation to the air circuit layout of FAW Junwei models, improving installation efficiency, and reducing adjustments and modifications during installation.
Strong Air Circuit Expandability: The 10k design provides more interfaces, making it easy for vehicle owners or maintenance personnel to expand the air circuit system according to actual needs, such as adding dryers, oil-water separators, and other auxiliary equipment, to improve the performance and stability of the air circuit system.
Maintenance Points
- Regular Draining: Water will accumulate at the bottom of the air tank. The drain valve should be opened regularly to drain the water to prevent water from corroding the air tank and entering the air circuit to affect component performance.
- Check for Leaks: Check all connections and welds of the air tank for leaks. If any are found, repair or replace the seals promptly to ensure the airtightness of the air tank.
- Check the Pressure Gauge: Monitor the reading on the pressure gauge of the air tank to understand the air pressure in the air tank. If the air pressure is abnormal, promptly check whether the air compressor, pressure regulator, and other related components are malfunctioning.
