The Sinotruk Howo 30L+8L dual-chamber air tank's core function is to store and stabilize compressed air, providing power for the vehicle's pneumatic system (such as braking, pneumatic valves, etc.). Its operating principle can be divided into the following core stages:

1. Air Storage: Compressed air produced by the vehicle's air compressor, after having its moisture and impurities removed by the dryer, is stored in two independent chambers of 30L and 8L respectively. The large 30L chamber has a large capacity and mainly provides a continuous air source for components with high air consumption (such as driving brakes, parking brakes); the small 8L chamber has a small capacity and usually supplies air to components that are more sensitive to pressure changes (such as pneumatic auxiliary devices, pneumatic valves), avoiding pressure fluctuations from the large chamber affecting the operation of small components.

2. Pressure Stabilization and Buffering: When air-consuming components (such as stepping on the brake) consume air instantaneously, the compressed air in the air tank will quickly replenish, preventing a sudden pressure drop due to the air compressor's inability to supply air in time. The dual-chamber design reduces pressure interference between different air-consuming components—for example, when the large chamber supplies air for braking, the small chamber can still maintain stable pressure, ensuring the normal operation of other starting devices.

3. Airway Distribution and Safety Protection: The two chambers are connected by different air passages (generally with independent air intake and outlet ports). Some models are equipped with pressure sensors or safety valves: when the pressure inside the chamber exceeds the set value (usually 8-10 bar), the safety valve automatically vents to reduce pressure, preventing the air tank from being damaged by overpressure; at the same time, the iron shell has a certain pressure resistance (generally designed to withstand 1.5 times the working pressure), ensuring the safety of the storage and supply process.
