Aluminum alloy air storage tanks in semi-trailers are mainly used to store compressed air, providing power for the vehicle's braking system, pneumatic auxiliary devices, etc. Their "2-hole" design typically serves the following purposes:
- Air intake and exhaust: One hole may connect to the air compressor to receive compressed air (intake); the other connects to the downstream pneumatic system (such as brake lines, pneumatic valves, etc.) to output compressed air (exhaust), realizing the storage tank's "storage-supply" function.
- Auxiliary function interface: In some cases, the two holes may serve the main and auxiliary functions separately. For example, one hole is used for normal air supply, and the other connects to a safety valve, pressure gauge, or drain valve, ensuring the safe operation of the storage tank or facilitating maintenance.
